The FilamentFactory is based in Bad Hersfeld, a small city with a regional function in Nord- Hessen. It is widely renowned as a Festival city, due to the “Bad Hersfelder Festspiele” and the “Lullus Fest”, the oldest street festival in Germany.

• The Bad Hersfelder Festspiele is a large semi-outdoor theatre festival that draws an (inter-) national audience. It takes place each summer, in the ruins of a Monastry in the centre of Town, the so-called “Stift Ruines”. The audience in the auditorium is sheltered by a magnificent tent roof, designed in 1968 by star architect Frei Otto. After 50 years of service, this tent roof will be renewed by The FilamentFactory as a very special gift to Bad Hersfeld.
